| A NEW
LANDMARK IS ACHIEVED |
| Advance Valves is pleased to advise that it now has its own in-house test facility to
undertake CRYOGENIC TESTING for Dual Plate Check Valves and
Metal Seated Butterfly Valves. Our capabilities extend to both Helium
& Nitrogen testing. |
| |
| With this we have joined a very select group of manufacturers who offer
Check Valves & Metal Seated (Triple Offset) valves for CRYOGENIC applications
upto –196 deg. C. |
| |
| These tests for have been successfully completed
as per BS 6364 and Bechtel specification 99-SPE-2612 REV-00H & SHELL
MESC Specification SPE77/306. The maximum leakage rate achieved was less
than 300-cc/ minute/ inch bore diameter as per API 598 for Check Valves
and BS 5155 for Butterfly Valves. |
| |
| Procedure & Application |
| |
| Cryogenic testing is conducted by immersing the
Valve in Liquid Nitrogen to cool to the desired temperature which is monitored
at a number of locations on the valve, both internally and externally. Once
operating temperature is established, the pressure test commences using
pure Helium or 99% Helium/ 1% Nitrogen as the test medium. Pressure can
be increased in increments and seat leakage measured at each increment.
Test pressure depends on the rating of the Valve and the maximum is limited
by Cold Working. Valve Inspection and Test Standard API 598 defines the
maximum permissible leak rate with air or inert gas at ambient temperature
conditions as 700cc/minute/inch bore diamete |

| Engineers conducting Cryogenic Tests |
Valve at low Temperature |
| |
| CRYOGENIC TESTED Valves find their varied
application in Liquefied Natural Gas pipeline, compressor stations, LNG
bulk carriers and wherever the temperature of the fluid is below –46oC |
| |
| For CRYOGENIC (low temperature) application,
Advance offers ASTM A351 Gr. CF8M (ANSI SS 316) and L.T.C.S. materials
in line with Buyers’ specifications. |
